Micronutrients often act as cofactors in enzyme systems and participate in redox reactions, in addition to having several other vital functions in plants. Most importantly, micronutrients are involved in the key physiological processes of photosynthesis and respiration and their deficiency can impede these vital physiological processes thus limiting yield and quality of the produce. Many of these enzyme systems play pivotal roles in disease resistance through the production of defense products, including key roles in phenol metabolism and lignin biosynthesis. An inadequate supply of micronutrients is frequently the cause of unsatisfactory yields. Even when there are no obvious symptoms, the plants may be suffering from latent (hidden) deficiencies. Sometimes deficiency situations occur only temporarily during growth phases when there is an increased demand for micronutrients. Weather conditions (drought and waterlogging) may also cause deficiency situations.

Fetrilon Combi-2 is an EDTA chelated multi micronutrient fertiliser specifically designed for increased availability for longer period of time to prevent or cure the micronutrient deficiencies in plants. All the metallic micronutrients are completely chelated to ensure immediate availability, rapid uptake and prevents premature fixation in the plants. Boron and molybdenum are present as readily soluble salts.

Foliar application

Recommended dose for foliar application is 1 gm/lit of water. When there is an acute deficiency with obvious symptoms, several treatments at the higher application rate should be carried out at 2 weeks intervals. For prevention, repeated treatments with the lower application rate are sufficient.

Soil application

In crops showing a severe chlorosis or in plant species that are highly sensitive (e.g.ornamentals) to the foliar application or plants in initial vegetative stages having low foliage,soil application is preferable at the rate of        0.5–1% solution of Fetrilon® Combi-2 (5–10 g/lit of water).

Application method & precautions

Fetrilon Combi-2 can be applied in the usual amounts of water with all the normal crop protection sprays. Pour Fetrilon Combi-2 slowly and uniformly into the spray tank half filled with water, while stirring continuously. Then add further inputs such as other foliar fertilizers and crop protection agents. Fill the sprayer tank and apply immediately with the agitator running.

Fetrilon Combi-2 should not be sprayed into the open blossom. In the case of tree crops, including pome, stone and citrus, Fetrilon Combi-2 should not be applied after flowering as skin finish may be adversely affected.

Miscibility

When tank mixing, Fetrilon Combi-2 is miscible with many crop protection agents but not with very alkaline products or those containing metallic trace elements, for example copper or manganese. A mixing test with small amounts of the products intended to tank mix is advisable. The application of several crop protection agents simultaneously is not recommended (carry out a spraying test).

Storage

Fetrilon Combi-2 can be kept for several years if stored properly in unopened and undamaged packages.
