Product Details
NovaTec Solub 9-0-43 Potassium has no structural purpose but it is one of the major nutrients required in the plant biochemical processes. K activates a large number of enzymes required for protein synthesis, photosynthetic process, transport of sugars from the leaves to the fruits and the production and accumulation of oils.
A good potassium supply shall therefore sustain the leaf function all along fruit growth and shall contribute to the positive effect of K on yield and a high content of soluble solids (more sugars) in fruits at harvest time. The action of potassium on protein synthesis enhances the conversion of absorbed nitrate into proteins which contributes to an enhanced efficiency of the supplied N fertiliser.
The potassium cation is involved in the maintenance of plant osmotic potential (cell turgence), one implication of this being the regulation of the opening and closure of stomata, which allows plants to exchange gas and water with the atmosphere. This enables plants to maintain an adequate hydric status under various biotic and abiotic stress conditions such as salinity, water shortage and diseases.
NovaTec Solub 9-0-43 is a high potassium grade combined with nitrogen to further increase its efficiency.
Role of Potassium
- promotes the production of proteins (faster conversion of inorganic N to proteins)
- supports the photosynthesis process (results in more sugar production)
- intensifies the transport and storage of assimilates (from leaf to fruit)
- improves the water use efficiency (less water needed per kg plant biomass)
- regulates the opening and closure of stomata (guard cells)
- responsible for the synthesis of lycopene (red colour pigment in fruits)
- builds cellulose and reduces lodging
- improves the quality of the produce as—weight, shine, colour, flavour, taste and shelf life
- helps plants to fight against various biotic & abiotic stresses as disease, nematodes, drought, cold, heat etc.
Role of Nitrogen
- important for amino acid synthesis, which are building blocks of proteins and enzymes
- helps in chlorophyll formation and photosynthesis activity
- helpful in increasing leaf size and quality
- assist in fruit filling and produce quality improvement

Recommendation
2.0 to 3.0 kg/acre is the recommended dose, and this can vary depending on the crop growth stages. This fertilizer contains all stated plant nutrients for customized fertilization of agricultural and horticultural crops. Its excellent solubility prevents clogging of drip emitters or nozzles. However, certain types of water may lead to precipitation even without the addition of fertilizer, so special care is required where such waters are used.
Miscibility
This fertilizer is miscible with virtually all the common plant protection agents; it is not miscible with strongly alkaline products or with mineral oils. A simple compatibility test with the intended mixing partners is recommended before practical use.
